Yorkshire students fare better
Where you studied could have a bearing on how much you earn, according to a recent survey.
A study of university-leavers in Yorkshire discovered almost all graduates were in employment for three years.
The study group of graduates from the ten regional universities from 2004, revealed former Yorkshire students were also paid well.
Graduates from the region received an average of £26,000 compared with £32,000 in London, which is a narrower gap between London waiting and other areas.
There was also less student debt with an average of £12,327 owed by Yorkshire grads compared with a national average of around £13,500.
Chief executive officer of Graduates Yorkshire, which conducted the survey, Martin Edmondson, said: "This report illustrates the continued appeal of graduates to employers, and backs up our previous research that demonstrated the positive link between the presence of graduates in a local economy and improved productivity and earnings."
Graduates Yorkshire provides a student support service.
